Thiruvalidayanath appeared in the dream of a devotee named Ananda Babu who regularly visited this temple and blessed him by asking him to build a separate shrine for Devguru within his temple. The devotee obtained formal permission from the Hindu Charitable Authority and built a separate shrine for Devguru Vyash Guru Bhagavan inside this temple. In the last year 2004, Kuduzhu was held very well. It is also known as Kurusthalam due to the worship of Vyazhguru Itruvalithaya Thiruvalleeswarar. Outside this temple, Guru Bhagavan is resting on an elephant in Tanichannadi. Gurubairchi festival takes place in this Tiruthalam as well as in Alangudi, South Phetta. It is unique that the auspiciousness of the lords of all the zodiacs is placed on the outer top of the sanctum in such a way that the devotees can enjoy it.
Historical
Sage Bharadhwaja took the form of sparrow named &ldquovaliyan” and worshiped the god of the sacred spot. As he greive his redemption this place was called VALIDHAAYAM Thiruvalidhaaya Nadhar. Thirumaal with the name of Sevaga perumaal worshiped here got pardoned for his sin of murder. Agathiar, Anuman, Vaayu Indran, Agni, Suryan, Manmadhan, Chandran all these people worshiped in this sacred place.. There are fourteen stone inspiration in thiruvalidhaayam. This sacred place belongs to Ambattur. This is to be found in the stone inscription.

in the southwest corner of the temple stands and it named as a Paathiri tree. It is defined as a worship place.

Annadhanam
The Thirukoil Annadhana Scheme, an innovative scheme of the Honble Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, has been implemented in this temple since , through which 100 beneficiaries have been given lunch every day to the devotees who visit the temple. The project cost for this was Rs.35/- per beneficiary. This lunch is served with rice, sambar, rasam, joint, fries, buttermilk and pickles. Food is prepared hygienically in the kitchen for the alms hall in this temple and food is served to the devotees daily between 12.00 PM to 01.30 PM. For food donation, devotees can visit the temple office in person and pay in cash and get a receipt. For the convenience of devotees, donations can be made online at the temple website hrce.tn.gov.in under e-services. Those who want to pay by check and draft can visit (Annadhana Scheme, Arulmiku Thiruvalleeswarar Temple, Padi) or send it by post. Rs.3500/- per day Fixed Deposit Rs.60000/-
Donation
This donation amount is credited to the first account of the temple and then transferred to the expense account of the temple and used for the cleaning work of the temple and for the other expenses of the temple.

Barathwaj Theertham
The temple is situated towards the east with three standing domes. The tirtha of this place is Bharadwaja tirtha. In the eastern prakaram adjacent to the gopuram, you can find the Navagraha Sannadi in the north-east corner and the separate temple of Guru Bhagavan near the gopuram. Inside the temple Lord Thiruvalithaya Nathar is displayed as a linga with the names Thiruvalleeswara Peruman. Mothers Thirunamam is given in many names like Thayammai, Sri Jagathambikai.

Thirukulam belonging to the said temple is situated in the south direction of South Mata Veedi, Badi, Chennai-50. This Thirukulam alone is spread over an area of about 4 1/2 acres. Ithirukulam Pathitura, Walkway, Nandavanam, It is defined by the areas of the surrounding wall. The steps of this Thirukulam are in the north direction with 16 steps. There is a wide footpath around Thirukkulam. This Thirukulam is covered with black stones in all four directions A ramp has been constructed. The upper mouth of Thirukkulam is square and wide and the inner mouth is square and narrow. There is no neerazhi mandapam in the middle of Thirukkulam. In the north direction of Thirukkulam there is Nandavanam along the footpath.
