If Ponkaliyammana is worshiped on days like Rahu, Amavasai and Pavurnami, all the special things will happen in this life. Also, she is the equal of this mother in providing marriage, childbearing and all the wealth. According to the traditional miras of the Agama Kriya of this temple, the Sivagiri Aadeenas perform the ceremonial rites. In the back of the double lion chariot in the Temple of the Goddess, two horses will catch the hopping. One will be captured by the Kurai clan and valiya clan the other by the player clan. The election will begin when both horses nod. The election festival was set up with the proverb ‘Three-quarters of a chariot in three quarters of an hour’ Three-quarters is the length and four-quarters is the height of the chariot. Before the chariot leaves, millions of devotees float with the chariot carrying torches in their hands. Sivagiri Aadeenam, a member of the kuraikula clan and Vilayankula clan, will be seated in the chariot with Goddess Pongali. All devotees will have the opportunity to see the Kula Deity and the Kula Guru together and have grace.
