Historical: Sankara Narayana is the linga form. In one stone is the form of Lord Shiva, with the right braid, the Ganges, the moon, the forehead, the thirunir, the makara kundalam, the Rudraksha garland, the dull abhayastha, the talitol etc. Accordingly, the images of Parvati and Lakshmi are displayed on both sides. The temple was built by the Cholas.
