Temple Specialty

Historical: Vithoba, the goddess of the Maratha state, was raised in the fountain of Bhandaripuram. The temple is unique among the worshipers of the Bandaripuram Vitoba Temple. Kanchi Sankaracharya Swamis first started his journey from the Vitoba Temple in 1848, when he traveled through the four streets of Tanjore. When the Swamis arrived in Thanjavur in 1849, they were staying at the Pandurangal Bhajan Temple.
