Parigaram: In the past, King Vasumasena lived with his wife Gandhimati in Tirunelveli, South India. Both were excellent Reds. They did not have a child for a long time. Nellaiyappar fasted for Gandhimati for the child. While the king and his wife were bathing in the Tamiraparani river, Umayyambika saw a lotus flower appear as a conch and the king took it in his hand.

With the conch appearing childish. The child was named Rajarajeswari and brought up. Raising a child from a foster mother, Chamundiyamma, one of the Saptamadas, the child Rajarajeswari learned all the arts and excelled in the chess game for women. King Vasusenan in chess The daughter announced that she would end up marrying the winner. But no one has come forward to win chess.

No one will win.At that time, on the advice of a sage, he went on a pilgrimage with his daughter, foster mother, Chamundiyamma, wife and entourage to various places of worship and came to Poovanur to worship the Lord and stay at this place. Then Lord Shiva came to see the king in the role of Siddhartha and said that he was good at playing chess. The Lord wanted the king to play chess with his daughter and accordingly he competed with Rajarajeswari in chess and won by playing chess. After winning the competition he showed everyone his true form. When the king saw this scene, he worshiped the Lord with ecstatic mind and language and was happy to marry his daughter Rajarajeswari to the Lord. Adi Shiva, the red god of the whole world, won the chess game and married Ambika Rajarajeswari.

At the request of Maharaja Vasusena, Sri Rajarajeswari Amman from this place removes the marriage ban and the marriage defects caused by the Navagrahas and blesses the marriage to take place in a good manner. Those who are not allowed to get married will have the privilege of getting married every Tuesday for 12 consecutive Tuesdays by lighting three ghee lamps in the evening for Goddess Sri Rajarajeswari. Arulmigu Chamundeswari Chamundiyamman is blessed with a separate shrine at Poovanur in Tamil Nadu next to the Chamundi Amman Temple on the Chamundi Hills in Mysore. In this temple, Chamundiyamman rises and blesses in a separate sanctum facing north. People suffering from rat poison and poisoning come to this temple on Sundays and take root by bathing in front of the bathing goddess (Sheera Butkarani) in Tirukulam. Every month, a full moon puja is held for Goddess Arulmigu Chamundeswari. It is a visible fact that the devotees light their lamps in the sanctum sanctorum with the footsteps of Goddess Sri Chamundeeswari on the full moon day to alleviate their grief and come to the sanctum sanctorum 27 times to worship the Goddess on the 9th full moon.
