In ancient times, while Devas and asuras had churned the ocean to obtain amirtha, it had resulted also with the heaps of halakala poison emerged from its depth and enveloped this universe with its poisonous fumes. The devas and asuras asked shiva for help and Lord Shiva swallowed the poison. His consort, the goddess Parvathi tried to prevent the poison from spreading to the rest of his body and the strength of the poision turned shiva’s neck blue, thereby earning him the epithet of “Neelakanta” (The blue throated one). Lord Shiva prevents his devotees in swallowing the harmful poisonous, bad causing elements that disturb their destiny.   “ KudaMuzha is a musical instrument that has five faces. Literature says, often Nandi deva plays on it to provoke Lord Shiva to dance gloriously. On Niraimadhi day, it plays on well to greet the Aradana of Lord Shiva. chozhas King , Mallandar Chozha konar has formed it in the sabha. Its weight is 2330Kg.. Its inscription says, it belongs to the 12th and 13th century of after the advent of Christ. It has its speciality of availability at Thiruvarur and thiruthuraipoondi only. The musical effort of echo is the holiest to remember, as it produces the best sound from the five forcing faces with various tunes. During seven times beat on each face, several reflections of various of echos beautiful music has been heard to harmonize the devotees.

  The Holiest pool which is located at the opposite place of Lord Shiva is called as “Brahma theertham” It has been d by the founder of “Brahma devan”. None of the holiest pool has its fame of salient features. This pool has its best mixtures of nava crores of holiest water from all the other, holiest pilgrimages . The devotees who take bath here will have all the greatest assests of the best wealth by Lord Shiva. In all these four covers of walls, it has 64 squares of finest architectural designing. This holiest pool has its ever amazing greatest divinely qualifies in it.

  This Thirukulam has her names of Amirtha. The holy water of Elixir has its pushkarani other name Mangalya theertham, that has its origination of the founder brahma. Annadhanam: Everyday Annadhanam has been providing to 50 devotees. A devotee can pay Rs.1750/- to provide annadhanam by their own wish. Public can pay for a scheme to provide annadhanam for example their Birthday, Anniversary etc.

  Theertham opposite the temple is called Brahmamirtham. It is now commonly known as Tirukkulam. Thirukkulam is located on 4.14 acres of land in Field No. 184/4.
