The temple remains open for public dharshan on all days from morning 6.00 AM and it remains open upto 8.45 Pm, without any break. Even during the time of ritual bathing (abishekam) of the deity, special paid dharshan is allowed. Darshan timings are subject to change during festivals.

Historical: Subramaniyar - Thiruthanigai Murugan is in the form of Gnanashakitahar. On the right hand of Thanigai Murugan is Gnanavel, the power of three powers. His left hand is on his thigh. Murugan is beautifully standing alone without a peacock. Sandalwood grinding stone - There is a wonderful large sandalwood stone for grinding the sandalwood mixture used for Muruga.

It is stated in Purana that Devendran gave this stone as a gift to the Goddess Deivanai. This sandalwood is used as a medicine for the devotees as an offering called Thirupada Sandanam. Airavatham - Indras vehicle, Airavatham, the elephant, given by Indra as a gift during the marriage of Deivanayammai, Airavatham is located near the flagpole looking at Indraloka.. During Adikrithigai, Special Flower kavadi Prayer takes place continuously for Five days. Thirupugazh Thirupadi Thiruvizha is celebrated for 365 tirupadis to mark one year of the festival on 31st December, 1st January of every year and it is enjoyed by thousands of devotees.

  • Temple Services

    1. The free hair tonsure service has been implemented from 05.09.2021 under the notification that no fee will be charged for the Tonsure performed by the devotees for their prayers in this temple. An average of 900 devotees per day are benefited under this scheme.

  • Darshan Booking

    The temple administration has made arrangements for paid services (arjita sevai) and free services of the deities in the temple and thus devotees can take part in the conduct of various rituals, services and worship in the temple. While the temple accepts offering goods and services required for the conduct of various rituals and services to the deities, they may also give their offerings through Hundi. Direct gifts are accepted and acknowledged. The following arjita sevai (paid services) facilities are also made available to the sevartis as per the details given below. Name of service: Fees Rs. 1. Silver Peacock vahanam and other vahana utsavam - 8000. 00 9.Kedaiya Utsavam - 1500. 00 10. Kalyana Utsavam - 4000. 00 11.Special archana on the Karthigai Nakshatra day on all the 12 months of a year - 500. 00 12.Annadanam and Prasadam sevai - - Devotees can take part in the above services and be a partner in conduct of all the above services by paying the prescribed fee. Free gift in the form of goods and services for the above services are also accepted and acknowledged. Hundi service is also available to the devotees, who want to remain anonymous of their contribution for all the sevais in the temple.

  • Prasadam Service

    The whole day Free Prasadham scheme has been started from 23.04.2022 in the hill temple. Types of Prasadham 1. White Pongal, 2. Curd Rice, 3. Sugar Pongal, 4. Tamarind Rice, 5. Kesari and 6. Coconut Rice. To contribute to this Free Prasadham scheme donations are invited. Rs. 25,000/- for one day free prasadham and Rs. 5,00,000/- as one time payment for contributing to one day free prasadham every year.

  • Annadhanam

    The whole day Annadhanam scheme has been started from 16.09.2021 from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm in the hill temple. 1600 devotees are given Annadhanam Per Day. Around 2000 devotees eat daily during the festival days. To contribute to this annadanam scheme donations are invited. Rs. 51,500/- for one day annadhanam and Rs. 10,00,000/- as one time payment for contributing to one day annadhanam every year.   • Library Facility

    The house, in which Sri Dr. Radhakrishnan, Former President of India was born, is handed over to Devasthanam. The devasthanam maintained the above beautiful building and runs a Library. There are about 3885 books in the library. Books of Sangam, Period, religious books, Philosophical Books of Dr. Radhakrishnan, Novels, Short Stories and Essays in Tamil, Telugu, English, Sanskrit and Hindi of various authors are available in the Library. News papers are also available for readers.

    There are parking facilities for about 400 vehicles near the hill temple Padachetty Kulam and about 100 vehicles near the hill temple bus stop.     To keep the belongings of the devotees visiting the temple, the facility of safety vault has been established at the hill temple and Thanigai illam Cottage from 08.00 am to 08.00 pm. For this facility Rs. 5/- is charged.

    The Temple operates passenger bus from Thanigai Illam cottage campus to Hill Temple (via Ghat Road) to have convenient darshan by devotees. Bus 2 Nos (42 seats) Timings : 6.00 AM to 8.30 PM Fare (UP & DOWN) : Rs.20/- Service available at regular intervals.

  • Drinking Water R.O.

    The water is supplied from the temple land at Thekkalur village through the pipe line to Hill temple and Cottages. Then the water is purified (R.O. System plant) to supply for devotees, Annadhanam and Others.

  • Free Footwear Stand

    To protect the Footwear of the devotees who visit this temple, footwear safety counter has been set up in front of the R. C. C. Mandabam.

  • Hospital

    1) A Medical Center is operated with necessary medicines. Doctors and medical staff are on duty from 6.00 am to 8.45 pm. 2) Siddha Hospital - Operates with necessary Siddha medicines. Siddha Doctor is available from 10.00 AM to 5.45 PM.

  • Karunai Illam

    Karunai illam - Orphanage are being maintained by the Devasthanam. There are two separate orphanages, one each for boys and girls in which poor students are accommodated respectively. Free accommodation, dress, food and education are provided to them by the temple.

  • Battery Car

    The temple provides battery car for devotees from vehicle parking to temple entrance at free of cost.

Tank Information

Saravanapoigai: A Tank located at the foothill of this temple is known as Saravana Poigai and it is also called as Kumara Theertham. The Thirukkulam is square in shape and decorated with stone steps. Neerazhi Mandapam, constructed in the middle of the Tank. Theppotsavam festival is held for three days during Aadikrittikai.
