Others: The praises of the temple are sung in the devar. The birthplace of one of the 63 Nayanmars, the famous Nayanar, is Alaghaputtur village. According to the legend, the fame sub was a poor farmer, but an ardent devotee of Shiva, who brought water in pots for the ablution of the presiding deity of the temple. There was a severe famine in the region for a year and the people suffered a lot. The fame sub still continued the water supply service.

Due to his old age and senility, he fell ill and fell on the image of the presiding deity. He prayed to Lord Shiva to free people from suffering. Lord Shiva was pleased with his devotion and started offering a coin (called திக்குக்கு in Tamil) daily, due to which both the saint and the region were relieved. He continued his service and Shiva considered him one of the 63 Nayanmars. Murugan along with his consorts Valli and Devasena along with the twelve Thirukaras along with the main weapons of Tirumala, Sangu and Chakra, are seen in a rare scene not seen anywhere else in the world.
