Historical: Thiruthalam is an ancient temple. It is said that in earlier times it rained continuously and there were frequent floods, and to prevent it, many sages and Vedic scholars united and performed velvis during this period, and as a result of this, Thirumal appeared to them as Yoganarasimha. This temple belongs to 10th or 11th century AD. Only the Yoga Narasimhasimha sculpture belongs to the Pallavar period. All other parts are existing stone buildings.
