Temple Specialty
Structure: Shiva took the form of a bird, a bird, and a human, with three forms, eight legs and four arms, the sun, the moon, and fire as his eyes, Pratyanagara and Choolini as his wings, and a nose and mouth like Garuda. This form was called Sarapa. He fought against Shiva for 18 days because he was stained with the blood of the demon. He fanned Narasimha with his feet and hands, and with all his divine hands, he removed the blood that had appeared on Narasimha and appeased Narasimhas anger. Narasimha was also pleased and praised Sarapa with 18 verses. Worshipping Sri Sarabeswarar, the ancestral deity of the Chalukya kings, in this temple brings all auspiciousness, eliminates evil spirits, completes a blocked marriage, and brings about childbirth.
