Temple Specialty

Prayer: Nangavaram Arulmigu Sundareswarar The girl born to Paranthaka Chola who built the temple had a face like a fox`s face so on the advice of Paranthaka Chola`s guru, the Sundareswarar lingam in Kashi is brought and consecrated in Nangavaram while Agandeswarar Rishi is meditating. Knowing this, when Akandeshwarar came to Nangavaram, he finished his Arthajama Puja and walked on. Sundareswarar gave a display to Akandeshwara and set up a separate shrine and gave blessings to the devotees. Akandeshwarar is also known as the Untouchable as he is always meditative. And even today, daily pujas are performed without touching Akandeswarar.
