Temple Specialty

Historical: He is called Atmanathar because he is Natharai for the soul. The Shivalinga in all Shiva temples is divided into three parts namely Tirumeni Panam, Shakti Peedam and Brahma Peedam. But here there is only the Shakti Pedham area in the middle. Above that, a vase would have been possible. In other words, Atmanathar stands as Enlightenment in Shakti Peetha.

That is, the Lord is understood as a formless form. The philosophy is that Shakti manifests Brahman as only the Shakti image is consecrated. There are 27 star lamps burning on the wall behind the Audhuyar and above them three lamps (white, green, red) namely Surya, Chandra and Agini. Pujas are performed according to Makudagamam Uttarabhagam to the deity. Six daily pujas. For Atmanatha, in the six seasons, the wormwood nivedana is poured into a bowl, brought with apatra without touching it and poured on the black stone platform (in front of the Swami) in Amuda Mandapam, and Nivedana is offered to the Swami with spirit.

Services

Annadhanam: 50 devotees are given alms daily.
