    The Shri Adinath Temple was once on the banks of the copper river. They then pushed the north bank of the river in order to make the temple and town bigger, and built barricades and staircases. The Shri Adinath Temple and the Puliyama tree were strewn with the river. Apuliyamaram, Ponthayiram, Puliyayiram, now called as a sleeping tree attracting devotees. Swami Nammavarvar in Alwarthirunagari, the place where the three great Acharyas, Sri Ramanujar, Manavalamuni, etc., became the Divya Desam, which made it great.

    Thoothukkudi district Eral taluk Alwarthirunagari Arulmigu Athinathar Alwar Temple it conducts daily at 12.30pm.Free meals distributes daily to 50 devotees. The persons like to donate for free meals, may participates in this scheme by donating Rupees 2500/-in the temple towards one day expense or another is available that if deposit Rupees 25000/-free meals would be distributed from the interest of the deposit in any one of the days in the year, likes by the donator. The donator may donate through on-line also. Contributions made to the Annadhanam scheme are exempted from tax under sec 80(G) of the income Tax Act 1961.
