Temple Specialty

Parigaram: During Ashtami days of the waxing moonphase, the distinct form of worship in this temple is to light lamps out of white pumpkin, coconut and lemon. Thousands of devotees light lamps throughout the night with a faith to get liberated from Navagraha dhosham and all thoshams. This temple is most popular for the Sathrusamhara yagam and kuruthi pooja which is performed at midnight to rescind the agonies caused by the rivals. The kuruthi (Blood in english) theertham is prepared by adding aromatic herbs along with vermillion to holy water and is sanctified with holy chants during the yagna. This holy theertham is used for topical anointing and to conserve positivity in houses and commercial institutions.
